I jumped right into full-time work in the San Francisco area, after 3 months in Africa.
I took a little break between job contracts, and went to Durango, Colorado.
I’ve been to multiple areas of Colorado before, but never the exceptionally charming town of Durango.
It was a perfect time to experience the area with all the splendid fall colors everywhere, and the festive Halloween decorations on the old Victorian homes provided me with an abundance of eye candy.
I was fortunate to stay in The Gable House Bed & Breakfast, a Nationally Registered Historical Place, built in 1892. All the rooms are oozing with comfort and charm, and the breakfast is delectable.
What impressed me the most was meeting a 16-year-old young woman, who was born and raised in Durango. I asked her what she thought about it, and she said, “she loves living here”. I shared my surprise because most teenagers I meet in small towns have only negative things to say, like how boring it is, and how they would love to go somewhere else. She said, “Durango has everything you need in walking distance”.
How about you? Are you happy and appreciate where you live?
