I have been going to Mt. Shasta in the summer since I moved to California in 2008… it is one of my favorite places in the world.
If you are into the powerfully energetic spots on the planet as I am, Shasta is definitely one to acquaint yourself with.
Every morning as I awake, a hummingbird circles the tent, inviting me to come out and start the day. I go immediately to the freshwater spring steps away to splash my face and drink in the earth’s wealth of nourishment.
I sip my ritualistic hot drink, while listening to the stream and soothing my senses with all the lovely smells of the trees, plants, and flowers. Next I lay out my yoga matt under the trees and stretch (the hummingbird usually circles me then), and I read a little before going on daily hike to different lakes, waterfalls and river swimming holes.
There were way more people than I have ever seen before. The City of Shasta, campgrounds, lakes and trails were flowing with people. As in other cities of California, people wore mask when in public establishments.
Although I usually go to these places to get away from the crowds, it was nice to see so many people get out of their daily stressors and into their natural state of unity with the rejuvenating, healing, and empowering forces of nature.
“I go to nature to be soothed, healed and have my senses put in order.”
