I started my exciting adventure in Scotland, in Oban, of the West Highlands, and the gateway to the Hebridean Isles.
After reading the book “Scotland’s Hidden Sacred Past”, I was deeply inspired to explore the ancient mystical Islands of Scotland, where I walked and hitchhiked for hours on the Isle of Mull, looking for the hidden Culdees church, and the Isle of Iona, whose presence of spirit is so strong it can turn even agnostic into a believer, and Staffa, with it’s colossal hexagonal basalt columns rising vertically out of the ocean forming the cave of Fingal, and the really cute Puffins that live there.
I left by ferry every morning from Oban to get to each Island. I spent my days walking through lush valleys, around rolling hills and lochs, in search of hidden and not so hidden sacred sites… a journey through twist and turns, and magical moments.
Next, I went to the countryside town, Inchture, to pet sit for a couple of weeks. We enjoyed daily long walks through the countryside.
From there I stayed for a few days in architecturally stunning and lively city of Edinburgh, before another pet sit in the small country town of Inversesk, enjoying daily riverside walks with the dogs.
And to finish off my Scotland trip, I went with a friend on his beautiful all wooden boat through the Loch Ness…. What a very special treat. And yes, I swam in the freezing Loch.
This was my first trip doing pet sitting from Trusted Pet Sitters, and I highly recommend it if you love pets like I do. I was able to stay in beautiful homes for free, in places I would have never thought of visiting on my own, and extremely grateful I got to. I will put a link here if you want to check it out, and if you sign up through my link, you get 25% discount and I get 2 mos. free 😊
THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU
